As followers of Christ, our true allegiance is to God. The things of this world–whether our circumstances, position in society, or where we live–do not define who we are. We do not place our ultimate trust or confidence in earthly rulers. Christ alone is our King, and our citizenship is in Heaven. Therefore, let us live each day with eternity in view, seeking to honor God through obedience to His Word, placing our hope in Christ’s return, and remembering that our lasting home is with Him.

"But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." –Philippians 3:20
