AWAKE AGAIN

at times I find myself up at night with racing thoughts about my adult kids. It is the strongest battle time for me because the house is quiet, I’m not busy and just have myself to sit with. I found this Bible reading plan on you version and LOVED DAY 1!!! The plan is called “3 AM” if you want to check it out. I wanted to copy day 1 in here for you!!

Day 1-

So you're awake. Again. The clock says a number it has no business saying, the house is quiet, and your mind is the only thing in the neighbourhood still running at full speed.

You're not alone in this hour, and not just because millions of others are lying awake somewhere too. David wrote Psalm 4 at night. It ends with him lying down, and what got him there wasn't a technique. It was a…

Beautiful post. Been there many times. Thinking about who it is who is keeping us safe. Wow, that is mind blowing. Psalm 191 “He who dwells in secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the almighty.”What a safe place to be no matter what. Love that that point you made where if it is ourselves well , that just doesn’t work very well! I spent years trying to do it on my own !

Same God

When my kids were in grade school, I worked 2 jobs. I would come home and hug them and run out the door again. Being a single mom, I was trying to make it work! Looking back I realize how blessed I was. They did their chores, did homework and left on table for me to look at, and put themselves in bed. The Lord graced me and them to thrive in that season.

As they are older, I get nervous because bad decisions carry adult consequences that I can’t fix! I had a sweet friend remind me - the same God that got you all through those times is the same God that will guide them now.

Boy is she right! God does not change, and his faithfulness is unwavering and not dependent on us! I can sit and trust He is there- through every season!

What about you?…

Thank you for sharing Clare. When my daughter was little and we went through tough times, I would tell her the same God that painted the spots on the ladybugs cares about every detail in our lives. I am so grateful for his unwavering and unchanging grace and mercy. But God….

The promise of peace

Sometimes when all my adult kids are around my peace feels challenged because I’m faced with their lifestyles.

Today in my reading I found the sweetest promise I wanted to share with you all. In our reading today, we see that righteousness is obtained by faith. then I see this promise in Isaiah!

Isaiah 32:17-18

And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.

I love Gods heart for us!!
