In Luke, John the Baptist gives specific recommendations to the soldiers, tax collectors, and such. When the soldiers ask "what should we do", he gives them specifics such as "don't extort money by threats of violence"

This is very different than most counselors these days. Usually I hear counselors say something like "Well, what do YOU think you should do". I think we can learn from John the Baptist and give specific feedback to people with conviction and confidence.
