I don’t always go into the dig deeper but I needed to today on both the OT and the New. The history given in Leviticus really gives you a clearer picture of the times and the connection of the feasts with Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection being foreshadowed. I think it was the previous days reading that explained how Jesus was born where they would’ve held the animals for sacrifice.🤯

In the New Testament today it was really painful and heart wrenching to read the details of the humiliation and excruciating pain He suffered.😭 Also, I never knew that what Jesus really cried out right before his last breath was “It is finished” NOT ‘why have you foresaken me?’. They were too busy mocking him to hear him I’m sure. Amazing to think that if he would have taken anything to numb the pain, our forgiveness would not have come. I knew he suffered immensely but now I have an even clearer understanding. Jesus we are so blessed and we humbly come to you with thankful hearts!🙏 Today and everyday let us praise you and let us be worthy of your most holy sacrifice.
